A cumlative list

It has been way too long since I have updated this so here is a quick partial list of what I have been reading.
Without Reservations - Alice Steinbach
Son of a Witch - Gregory Maguire
Timeline - Michael Crichton
Capolan - Nick Bantock
When We Were Saints - Han Nolan
The Courtesan - Susan Carroll
Mountains Beyond Mountains - Tracy Kidder
At the Mercy of the River - Peter Stark
Mirror Mirror - Gregory Maguire
Shantaram - Gregory David Roberts
Memoirs of a Geisha - Arthur Golden
The Constant Princess - Philippa Gregory
and I am currently reading
River Town - Peter Hessler
And while you might find it hard to believe I would highly recommend almost all of these books. The Courtesan and the two Maguire books were okay, but the rest of the books have become some of my favorites. If you can only read one of the above books read Mountains Beyond Mountains (thanks Krister for introducing me to this). I am going to try to keep this more updated, but of course that can take away from good reading time. As Daniel J. Boorstein said: "A wonderful thing about a book, in contrast to a computer screen, is that you can take it to bed with you."

Under the Overpass

  • Under the Overpass

  • Author: Mike Yankoski
    Published: April 1, 2005
    Read:October 2005
Thoughts: Absolutly amazing story. You can't read this book and not see the world and especially america's homeless in anenlightened light. Mike and friend Sam decided to be homeless for 5 months in 5 american cities. The story of their life over those five months tells you of how hard life on the street is and how america takes (or doesn't) take care of our homeless.

    African Nights

  • African Nights

  • Author: Kuki Gallmann
    Published: April 1, 2000
    Read: September/October 2005
Thoughts: A set of short autobiographical stories of Kuki Gallmann's life in Africa. A great book which seems to capture the life of Africa

    Artemis Fowl

  • Artemis Fowl

  • Author: Eoin Colfer
    Published: May, 3 2002
    Read: September 2005
Thoughts: Yes another kids book and another book having to do with magic, can you tell what kind of mood I have been in lately? But overall this is a fun read and I may pick up one of the sequels.
